All pre-race Events will be held at the Red Rock Center For The Arts. This building located at 222 East Blue Earth Ave in Fairmont is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was that fact that made the restoration of the building possible.
The building restoration project was tackled by a group of local visionaries led by Don Milbrant so that future generations could enjoy all the Center has to offer.
The Red Rock Center for the Arts (RRCA) is owned by Martin County. The Martin County Preservation Association has an agreement with Martin County for the lease and management of the RRCA throughout the life of the building. The Martin County Genealogical Society currently leases a portion of the lower level.
The First Church of Christ Scientists building, which is now the RRCA, was designed by the prominent Minnesota architect, Harry W Jones. The building is an excellent example of the Richardsonian Romanesque style of architecture. It is constructed of Sioux Quartzite (red rock), quarried in southwestern Minnesota.
The RRCA continues to seek donations of all kinds to support the building and ongoing events for our future generations.
The Staff of the Triathlon would like to thank the RRCA for supporting our event and helping organize the pre-race events.
